I grew up on a beautiful farm in North Orange, Ma., The Sentinel Elm Farm. I’ve been drawing and painting as long as I can remember. My mother and grandmother were both artists. Over the years, they graciously shared with me their talent, knowledge, insight. and anecdotes of their art worlds. With their teachings in hand, I started my own art journey, allowing my inner voice to guide me into an expressive style. Whether representational, expressionistic, or touching on the abstract, being expressive is the common thread in my work.
I had taken all the art classes possible in high school, then continued on at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, Ma. I moved to Swanzey, N.H. in 1981. After raising a family, I finished my Bachelor of Fine Art Degree at Keene State College in 2007. Since then, I had opened an art gallery in Swanzey, N.H. where for six years it was my platform to show case local emerging artists work as well as my own artwork.
At present, I am fortunate to be involved in a great art community at 17ROX. Studio E is my space. I love working with pastels, charcoal, pen and ink, acrylics and oils.
Recently I have begun working with wood burning, paper beading and polymer clay jewelry; experimenting with expressive design, texture, and color.
